Referees and Corruption

Litex managed to defeat one of the strongest teams in "A" Group Loko (Sofia) after an interesting match in Lovech. There were many criticisms directed toward the referee because of his seeming affection towards the players of Litex. The president of Loko was furious after the match and declared his intention to ask the chief referee of Bulgaria to resign. The referee Angel Angelov obvisouly favored the Lovech team through his actions, but the question is did he do this intentionally or was it just a mistake. In the past, he has been a central character in numerous scandals concerning macthes of CSKA (Sofia), Slavia, and Levski. If the scandals in the "A" Group continue, Bulgarian football will suffer greatly. We should not forget that Bulgarian football is also observed by UEFA, which has the power and the authority to impose heavy bans and fines on our federation. So instead of figthing between each other, Bulgarian football fans had better unite and help the federation solve the problem with referees. Several football teams, including CSKA (Sofia) and Levski, have decided to meet and discuss the current situation. It is very likely that they will take serious measures. It seems that Bulgarian football has a real chance to get rid of corruption.
