Sexiest sport! ?

What is the sexiest sport of all? Both for men and women... Answers about to be revealed by the always true statistics. Are men more impressed by women who play football or climb mountains? Do women go for body builders or yoga fanatics?

The work involved over 6000 people indicating which sporting activities would make a member of the opposite sex more attractive. Results revealed that 57% of women found climbing attractive, making it the sexiest sport from a female perspective. This was closely followed by extreme sports (56%), football (52%), and hiking (51%). Bottom of their list came aerobics and golf, with just 9% and 13% of the vote respectively.

In contrast, men were most attracted to women into aerobics (70%), followed by yoga (65%), and going to the gym (64%). Bottom of their list came bodybuilding (5%), rugby (6%), and golf (18%).

Women’s choices appear to reflect the type of psychological qualities that they find attractive – such as bravery and a willingness to take on challenges - whilst men are more shallow, looking for a woman who is physically fit but not challenging their ego by being overly strong.

The findings also reveal that both men and women have little insight into what sports the opposite sex find attractive. 56% of men believe that women are attracted to male bodybuilders, whereas only 19% actually are. Likewise, 73% of women think that men find female runners attractive, whereas in reality 55% do.

In my opinion if there was the kind of poker, we, men, enjoy the most, it would be the sexiest sport of all.

MMA of the Past

You think MMA is something completely new and original? You are wrong! Although MMA is often compared to Wresling the techniques are actually very different. However there is (or was) a sport just like MMA, but almost 3000 years ago. It was called Pankration, and began in Ancient Greece as an olympic games' sport. Soon after its creation, Pankration, became one of the most spectacular sports present in the Olympic games. The rules of Pankration were were simple - fight until your enemy surrenders (sometimes this lead to death, where officially the victor becomes the alive one). Only two regulations concerning the fight were presents - no bitting and no eye gouging (similarly to the first UFC rules). The players of course could use only their bodies as a weapon, although there are myths and legends of special events, tournaments for Pankratiasts, where other weapons were present as well. Some belive this sport lead to the creation of the famous gladiator sports. Anyhow the stunning similarity of these ancient sports and modern-time MMA reveal the eternal hunger for blood of the crowd.

The best teams for December are Porto FC and Schalke 04, who were not defeated during this month and had some great results in their country and outside it.

West Ham boss Avram Grant has been given a stay of execution as the club's manager, BBC Sport understands.

Owners David Gold and David Sullivan refused to comment on Grant's future after a board meeting and the Israeli's side now faces Arsenal on Saturday.

The 2-1 Carling Cup semi-final first-leg win over Birmingham and the FA Cup win over Barnsley last weekend has helped the immediate pressure on Grant.

But he must guide West Ham out of the relegation zone to keep his job.

West Ham have suffered just one defeat in seven games and the Israeli said his future has been unfairly scrutinised.

"We are one point from Wigan, Fulham and others but with them everything is quiet," said Grant.

Four of those last seven games have been won and the 55-year-old added: "Unfortunately, we have to fight these rumours. I don't want to think about other things, I want to fight."

After the win over Birmingham, which leaves the Hammers 90 minutes from their first trip to Wembley since the 1981 League Cup final, Grant was keen to deflect attention from his own situation and focus on the team instead.

Liverpool continued with their unsuccessful streak against Blackpool

The new team in this Premier leage season Blackpool defeated Liverpool as a host with 2-1, and they made Kenny Dalglish's debute for Liverpool in the premier League a bad one. At the third minute Torres was accurate to open the score for the guests. Liverpool's joy was temporary, however because Blackpool scored in the 12th. Liverpool's defence was not very well built and that made easy for Taylor-Fletcher who equilized the score. The hald time was 1-1 and both teams were playing evenly. Torres had some opportunities to score but he didn't have luck. The second half started the same way, but it seemed that Liverpool players were playing with no spirit. They were punished in the 69th minute whn Liverpool least expected. D.J Campbel was accurate with head and scored the goal that broad Blackpool in front. Balckpool managed to turn over the match, and that was crucial to Liverpool's player confidence who couldn't score again till the end of the match. Liverpool's manager was extremely unpleasant and Liverpool went from 12th to 13th place in the Premier League. Blackpool are ninth.

The Arsenal skipper converted a spot-kick in the 90th minute at the Emirates to prevent Leeds from causing a second huge upset in as many years, having beaten Mancester United at Old Trafford in the third round last season.

Robert Snodgrass had given the Championship side the lead from the penalty spot after 54 minutes, but Leeds were unable to hold on in a frantic finish, and the teams will meet again at Elland Road.

Arsene Wenger made nine changes from the team that drew 0-0 with Manchester City in midweek - just Johan Djourou and Alex Song remained.

However, he was able to bring in the likes of Andrei Arshavin, Maruoane Shemack and Tomas Rosicky, meaning even his second-string side was shot through with quality.

Sanchez Watt, on loan from Arsenal, played for Leeds and posed some questions with his searing pace - on one occasion he sprinted past the startled Rosicky, who brought him down with a push in the back and earned the game's first booking.

After a slow start, Arsenal's punches finally started to hit their target towards the half-hour mark, when they produced a flurry of blows but were somehow unable to knock their opponents out.

Kasper Schmeichel had earlier raced off his line to deny Arshavin with a save the goalkeeper's father Peter would have been proud of, and was at it again on 28 minutes when he dived low to his left to stop a volley from the Russian.

A minute later, Schmeichel was beaten but Jonny Howson cleared an Alex Song effort off the line from a corner.

Denilson then tested Schmeichel with a long-range shot, and from the resultant corner it was Luciano Becchio's turn to clear off the line from his position on the near post.

Early in the second half, Leeds went in front after a crude challenge by Denilson on Max Gradel, and Snodgrass drove the penalty low into the right corner.

Fabregas, Theo Walcott and Carlos Vela came off the bench as the Gunners poured forward.

Marouane Chamakh went close with a header, and Walcott shot straight at Schmeichel, but there was drama to come as the match reached its climax.

In the 88th minute, Alex Bruce upended Walcott and referee Phil Dowd pointed to the spot, but changed his mind when his linesman flagged for an offside that took place after the foul.

Arsenal had little time to complain, because 60 seconds later they did have a penalty when Ben Parker pulled back Walcott - Fabregas made no mistake from 12 yards.

It was not over, though, and Arsenal poured forward in stoppage time. Nikclas Benthner rampaged through on to a long ball, but volleyed dreadfully wide.

Then Schmeichel produced a miraculous save to tip Denilson's 20-yarder wide. And there was still time for Walcott to drill a shot into the side netting.

For all Arsenal's dominance, a draw seemed a fair result, and this rumbustuous affair was the perfect way to kick off an FA Cup third round weekend.

A few days ago Manchester City bought Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg for the enormous £27.5m (€32m). However, it seems that Roberto Mancini is lookinng for another attacking player. The Best of the Best...

VANCOUVER — Shaun White once again proved that there are 2 types of snowboarding: snowboarding and Shaun White's snowboarding.
He won his second men's Olympic halfpipe gold medal a run that finals that was much faster, better and higher than his competitors'.
"I knew that I had it in me," were his words after that run. "It felt good."
His artistic display of the tricks was the cherry on top of the gold medal. In his second run he was even faster. His rockin' combo was super-sized Double McTwist 1260, with 2 backflips with 3 and a half rotations of his board.
That run was a 48.4, his highest in an Olympics. The silver medalist Peetu Piironen from Finland was way below White's first try - 46,4. The bronze medalist is the american Scotty Lago.
"His bone, body, brain and synapses make him who he is," White's coach, Bud Keene, said recently. "But there are a lot of natural athletes. What sets him apart is his extreme commitment to training, to perfection. He has an uncompromising attitude toward his efforts. He works harder than anyone, and he's the most talented. That's a hell of a package."
White's second Olympic gold medal is the continuation of an improbable life journey that began with open-heart surgery as an infant followed by instant bonding with surfing. At 7, he picked up snowboarding because his mother was frightened by his wild skiing.
"From the very beginning," he said, "it was like this contest setting, and I wanted to be the best."
But the burden of competition was tough on his family, which often slept in its crowded van in ski resort parking lots because they couldn't afford a room.
When the family of five could squeeze into a single room, they cooked meals on a single electric hot plate. "If the security guards came around, a couple of us would have to hide out," he recalled.
In his moment of 2010 triumph, his entire family was with him at the halfpipe, something that was not possible in 2006. Even his dog, Rambo, got to come.
Rambo could fly first-class, too. White is one of the most well-known athletes in the world, making more than $9 million a year. Business Week magazine ranked him as 51st in its list of the 100 most-powerful athletes.
At 23, he's not old enough to rent a car, but he owns a Lamborghini.
When he wanted to work on his new "double-cork" tricks, energy drink sponsor Red Bull built him a million-dollar halfpipe deep in the Colorado Rockies, far from the eyes of his competitors.
After honing his skills, he went to New Zealand to practice before the Olympics, something he and coach Keene did before his 2006 win.
There, his competitive spirit kicked in and his secret tricks were revealed. It didn't matter that his rivals knew what was up his sleeve.
He won four of the five Olympic qualifiers, then took X Games gold in January less than an hour after crashing hard in a practice run.
"I can't really describe a trick as much as I just feel it," White said.
Wednesday night, the whole world was feeling it.
