Wesley Sneijder Left Out of the Golden Ball Competition

FIFA made an astonishing decision by not including the Dutch superstar Wesley Sneijder in the three nominated footballers who are going to compete for the prestigious award. Many fans of football cannot believe that this has happened because Sneijder was the key player in last season's Inter Milan squad. He was vital for the success in both the Champions League and in the Italian Calcio. Moreover, the winger scored five goals on the World Cup in South Africa. It cannot be said that the three nominated players, Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandes, and Andres Iniesta, do not deserve their place because all of them had a tremendously strong season in their club Barca. Objections were raised that FIFA favors Barcelona over teams like Inter, but the recent match against Real Madrid proved that Barcelona could be called the strongest team in the world. Nonetheless, Sneijder really deserved a place in the Great Three even though the choice has undoubtedly been very hard for FIFA.
