Dock jumping
Dock jumping also known as dock diving is a dog sport in which dogs compete in jumping for distance or height from a dock into a body of water.
A team consists of a dog, of any type or size, and usually one handler but sometimes two handlers. Dogs must be over six months of age to compete. Handlers may use a toy, also known as the chase object. The dogs are not required to chase or retrieve the toy.There are dock jumping events in the United States and other countries such as United Kingdom,and Australia.The first time this sport appeared was in 1997 at the incredible dog challenge which was sponsored by the dog food manufacturer Purina.Nowerdays this sport is ran in many different countries and is very famous around people who deal with dogs. Teams know many different techniques in order to make the dog jump better. The most famous one is by giving the dog a candy before and after it's first jump it order to encourage it. The world record is recorded is made by the Dog Smoke and it's owner Melissa Nesson on the 11th of July , 2010. Its lenght is 29 ft or 8,86 meters. Dock jump is one very cool dog sport and many people think that dogs love it too.
