In the last couple of days a rumor that Dimitar Berbatov will join Bayern Munich. The English newspaper Sun stated that the German club will pay 8 million pounds (9.6 million euro) for the Bulgarian striker, who is currently playing for Manchester United, but is not regularly playing for his team. Berbatov was seen travelling to Frankfurt by a reporter of the newspaper yesterday. That even more strenghtened the posible transfer ot the player.
Bayern Munich are searching for a new striker, because Ivica Olic will leave the team in the summer after the end of the current season. However, Manchester will renew the contract of the Bulgarian to the summer of 2013, which means he'll not able to join Bayern this summer as a free agent.
Berbatov started in only 9 of the 31 matches of Manchester United since the beginning of the season. Alex Ferguson usually prefers Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck or Javier Hernandez instead of the BUlgarian.
Bayer Leverkusen Anzhi Makhachkala are also teams interested in buying Dimitar Berbatov.
