Bowling: History

The first evidence of bowling was discovered by a british archeologist in 1930. It manifested in the form of primitive bowling pins and bowling balls that were buried in the grave of an Engyptian boy. The artifacts are dated back to 3200 B.C. This was the first evidence of existance of bowling.
Other archeologist claim that the first game of bowling was played somewhere in western/central Europe in 300A.D. The first written referance to bowling dates back to 1366. It claims that king Edward III played the game along with his soldiers. Further traces of bowling state that the game was banned from all but the upper classes of England by king Henry VIII, because the game distracted the traders and workers from doing their jobs. Ninepin bowling was introduced to America from Europe during the colonial era, and became very popular in the New World.
